Make It! May half term

What links Rolls-Royce engines, Dyson hoovers and Apple computers? Answer: they were all created by people inventing new ways of doing things through DIY, tinkering and making!

This May half term we’re giving you the chance to get hands-on and make. Put together your own pinhole camera and test it out, design your own fabric with pattern stamps and join in the maker mayhem at the science showdown where you’ll see how science helped inventors change the world.

Science Showdown: Makers

Time: 11.30 and 13.30
Age: Recommended for ages 5 and older
Location: Revolution Manchester

Necessity really is the mother of invention in this crazy, madcap show. Find out how science helped three inventors create and engineer things we use every day.

Pinhole Cameras

Time: 11.00, 11.30, 12.00 and 12.30 (limited tickets available at the information desk)
Age: Recommended for ages 7 and older
Location: Room 1 Learning Loft, Great Western Warehouse

Printing workshops

Time: 14.30–16.30
Age: Recommended for ages 5 and older
Location: Revolution Manchester

Put your own stamp on things in this interactive drop-in workshop. Find out how we used to print designs on cotton and take home your very own printed piece of material.
