Museum of Science and Industry

You are here:

Spend an evening with legendary Factory Records designer Peter Saville, play the carrot clarinet, then rock out to a silent disco featuring the catchiest tunes on the planet.

Listen to Peter Saville discuss his work, take a peek at our Factory Records archive and chat to one of our archivists about the hidden gems on display, exclusively for the Late event.

Get full marks at the School of Noise and make your own origami record player to take home, create sweet music with sweet potatoes and watch sound being turned into fire.

We'll also be revealing the final results of our mass citizen science experiment HookedOnMusic, as well as presenting cutting-edge research around music and time perception with researchers from the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music.

And, of course, it wouldn't be a Late at the museum without a silent disco. Slip your headphones on, grab a drink from the bar and rock out to the top tunes from the HookedOnMusic project, plus a few others for good measure.
