Museum of Science and Industry

You are here:

Can you handle space pressure? Are you prepped for take-off? Would you wear a space-nappy!? If the answer is ‘yes’, we need you!

From blast off to touchdown, we'll explore the science behind Tim Peake's Soyuz adventure through big, exciting experiments. Join the team, earn your stripes, and graduate from Space School!

What will they learn?

  • The ingredients of the fire triangle and the different types of energy created by explosions, as we carry out rocket-fuelled experiments.
  • That different materials have different properties, making them perfect for Tim Peake's space equipment.
  • That changes of state can either be reversible or irreversible, as we demonstrate the effects of space on the human body.
  • That using science enquiry skills can create amazing outcomes.

NB: Space School will include loud bangs and flashing lights, which may not be suitable for everyone, so please consider this before booking. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to get in touch.
